Blocks Wearables’ nifty modular smartwatch looks less like vaporware now - hancockdranch

When Blocks Wearables started showing off a prototype of its modular smartwatch at CES in January, it was Sunday-go-to-meeting treated with a healthy dose of skepticism.

The idea sounds clever decent: To each one link in the watch band houses a swappable component ,such as a battery, a cellular radio set, Global Positioning System, Beaver State heart rate monitor, then users can resolve on the dot which features they want. But the CES prototype was hardly operable, and considerably chunkier than the slick construct renderings that Blocks had been showing off for months. The five-mortal startup also hadn't decided whether to employment Intel or Qualcomm processors, and successively wasn't destined whether the software would be based on Android or Tizen.

Six months later, the project isn't looking as vaporous.
